Communication Styles I Fall Under

You’ve probably heard the phrase “communication is key” over and over, but what do you do when your perceptual language does not match that of another individual’s and communication fails. The answer to that is simple, individuals should be aware of the types of communication styles mentioned in the article “These Are Six Communication Styles That Every Single Person Uses” by Stephanie Vozza and be able to identify which one they fall under. To start off, I identify myself as a thought’s language person. Thoughts language consist of facts, details and asking questions. Similarly, I am the type of person to want to identify all the elements in a situation and then communicate in an organize manner to ensure my points get across. Secondly, I identify as an action language person. Action language people get to the point and don’t have time to waste. Likewise, I don’t like to talk more than I need to and like to know all the important factors from the start. In conclusion, it is important to recognize the perceptual language you fall under. In my case, I identify myself with action and thoughts language because I like to know the facts and get straight to the point. What communication style do you fall under?

  1. I like the fact that you explained smoothly what you are going to be discussing as well as how you transitioned to talk about your style. It was simple and straight to the point that lead to a good concluding statement.

  2. It’s very interesting that you take your time before you speak so that you know everything you need to say in a correct and efficient way.

  3. I enjoyed your essay and liked that you hyperlinked a couple of things.

I think it’s interesting that you see yourself as an “action language” communicator. It sounds like you just want to get the information and start getting things done. I’m wondering if you have a specific example from your real life. It would make your essay stronger if you provided an example of a time/situation when you use action language.
